The Rundown: Psylocke goes on a secret mission and discovers a terrible mutant experiment.

The X-Men gather at their base for a meeting, but Psylocke is running late because she is finishing a side mission to rescue a young woman related to a powerful man. After returning to the base, Cyclops benches her to force her to get some rest and she immediately heads to John Greycrow to find some semblance of peace.

Unfortunately, that peace doesn’t last long when she receives a message from Devon Di Angelo who tells her about AIM developing a new weapon based on mutant DNA. She infiltrates an AIM party to find the source and discovers mutant children being sold at auction. An action that forces Psylocke to leap into action to save them no matter the consequences.

The Story: Wong creates a fantastic story in this first issue. I love Psylocke as a character and this story dives into her internal conflicts in a fantastic way that not only showcases her strength, but also her emotions and vulnerability. She is a multifaceted character that is delightfully complex and Wong brings out that complexity in interesting and engaging ways. I really enjoyed this first issue and look forward to seeing where this story goes next.

The Art: Carratu delivers some fantastic art throughout the issue. I love the character designs and the action is visually thrilling throughout the story.
